CLEVELAND DEAN Gravitating to the influences of the early American Abstract Expressionist movement and Asian calligraphy, Cleveland Dean pulls from various elements and life experience and has formed an individual style that reflects his vision, intellect, passions, transgressions, and global issues. The centered ideology is that which is to evoke individual thought for the viewer as opposed to being conditioned to what one should think or see which resonates into other aspects of their lives. As a self-taught artist, he refuses to be “professionally” schooled to techniques of art, asserting that a true artist disciplines oneself to determine their own style, and the appropriate means and medium(s) for expression. |

DIANE HUFF Diane Huff, a native of the Chicago-land area, received her BFA at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1969. Trained in fashion design, she of course became a potter for many years. Always searching for new color for clay, she finally decided to skip the clay and just paint. Her painting is process driven, color infatuated and infused, riven with loose, free mark making and freeing her from the hot kiln. It does however fire the light within, allowing Huff to create wonderful free and often Zen-like abstracts, that look like watercolor or fabric. |

RICHARD SHIPPS Richard Shipps is dedicated to the exploration of shape, form & shadow in 2 & 3 dimensions. Shipps' precision-cut dimensional paper sculptures are flowing, intuitive, joyful studies of form & counter-form. They provide a tactile, multi-dimensional opportunity to experience shape, shadow and light. Fluid sculptural interpretations move this humble medium well beyond its surface & provide an animated kinetic sense of space.
