Gallery PINK - March 3 - April 29, 2012
| Paper Visions runs from March 3 to April 29, 2012. Gallery PINK is open Saturday and Sunday afternoons and by appointment. The gallery is located in the Oak Park Arts District on Harrison at Lombard. Live paper cutting demonstrations will be conducted by the artist during Third Friday Gallery Walks in March & April. There is a diverse collection of Shipps' cut paper artwork on display in the gallery including folded cuts, texturizing, layered cuts, shaped panels, organic dimensional work and his trademark "single incisions". In addition, there are several laser-cut steel sculptures, further displaying the artist's depth of exploration of form and counter-form. His artistic influences include Henri Matisse, Alexander Calder, Sol Lewitt, and Josef Albers. |
